What will Quality Assist provide for you?
- Initial program assessment using the Assessment Profile and/or the ITERS & ECERS and follow up consultation to assist in the development of an individualized program improvement plan.
- On site consultation from an experienced consultant who will partner with you as you move toward national accreditation.
- Information, resources and support in understanding and interpreting the new NAEYC standards and criteria.
- An individualized program timeline to keep your program on track in the steps to NAEYC accreditation.
- Funding to cover all accreditation fees - fees that reach well over one thousand dollars.
- Specialized training for teachers emphasizing various NAEYC standards and specifics on criteria.
- Monthly Leadership Forums for owners and directors focusing on leadership and management issues.
- An opportunity to attend the week-long Challenging Teachers Institute for teachers and directors in July 2011 valued at over $2500 per person. Contingent upon funding approval, this training maybe free of charge to your center.
- At least $200 in equipment and materials purchased for your center to support accreditation preparation.
What is your center's commitment?
- Participate in a program evaluation process and work with the Quality Assist consultant to develop a program improvement plan.
- Create a quality team to ensure a collaborative approach to program improvement and commitment to NAEYC quality standards and criteria.
- Pursue NAEYC accreditation in the next year with support from Quality Assist and submit application or candidacy materials by September 30, 2011.
- Participate in monthly Leadership Forums and share information with your center's quality team.
- Share information with all staff regarding training opportunities, resources for professional development and program improvement goals.
- Participate in the Get Ready to Read and Ages and Stages assessment processes.
- Upon receipt of funding, ensure that you and as many teachers as possible apply to attend the Challenging
Teachers Institute in July 2011.
- Ensure that the Director or other designated quality team member is on site and available when consultant is scheduled to be at your center (or call to reschedule in advance).
- Communicate with your consultant any changes, challenges and successes that affect your program's goals for accreditation.
